As Destruction of Philly Public Ed Looms, Kids Are Pawns in Budget Battle

Things in Philadelphia are going from bad to worse… Even a good governor cannot overcome a legislature hell-bent on privatization in the places where children need the most help: the cities. I don’t see Radnor, Fox Chapel, or other affluent districts in the cross hairs of the legislature.

Public education for more than 130,000 Philadelphia children is at stake, as the state legislature remains mired in a stalemate over the long-overdue budget.
