Christians Get Into a Twist Over a Georgia School’s Yoga Program

This article underscores the paradoxes inherent in offering secular versions of Eastern practices. Can yoga be disentangled from Hinduism? Can mindfulness be disentangled from Buddhism? On the other hand, can the encouragement of empathy be disentangled from any spiritual practice? Can the Golden Rule be used as the basis for treating each other with kindness independent of Biblical, Koranic, Buddhist, or Hindu practices?

Some parents, fearing the kids might come home Hindus, kick up a fuss, but the principal assures them that the school’s use of yoga is aimed only at fitness and de-stressing and has no religious connotation. Just to be safe, reforms have been made. – 2016/03/25

I would like to the title of that article corrected to read “A Few Christians…” or “Some Christians…”. It would seam that the author isn’t familiar with many Christians.
