Bill Clinton Paid $17,500,000 by “Fiscally Irresponsible” For-profit College that Donated $5,000,000 to the Clinton Foundation
Politico blogger Michael Stratford wrote a post earlier this week reporting that in his capacity as “honorary chancellor” of for-profit Laureate International University Bill Clinton was paid $17,500,000 over a five year period… but… he stepped down from this job around the same time his wife launched her Presidential bid…. Oh… and Laureate International University owns “…Walden University, a Minneapolis-based online school that the Education Department has placed on a list of colleges that officials are more closely monitoring because of concerns over its “financial responsibility”…. but that’s not all:
“Laureate International Universities, the company’s international arm for which Clinton worked, has donated $1 million to $5 million to the Clinton Foundation, with a new contribution made as recently as the second quarter of this year, according to records posted on the foundation’s website.”
As the inspector in Casablanca said, “Move along, there’s nothing to see here.” Certainly neither NEA nor the AFT saw anything amiss with these donations from a private for profit college. Too bad Ms. Clinton didn’t share her tax returns during the primary elections.
