The racial disparities in the US have been highlighted frequently in this blog, but when they are summarized in one place it paints a chilling and grim picture. From before the cradle to the grave (which comes 4 years earlier for Black men) Blacks have significantly adverse conditions as compared to their White counterparts. The article offers no clear solutions to this reality, but if one were trying to make a case for some kind of reparations these data points would be a compelling place to start. One thing is clear, expecting education to be the sole solution is wishful thinking at best and a mean of sidestepping responsibility at worst.
