Florida Governor Ron DeSantis wanted all schools in the state opened 5 days per week and threatened to withhold all state funding if they didn’t. The teachers organization and several star civil rights organizations filed suit and yesterday a judge ruled in their favor. While the ruling didn’t say so explicitly, it is clear that the judge chose safety over politics and medical evidence and the pre-existing conditions of schools over the economic problems of the State. Here’s hoping the ruling sticks… because it IS being appealed.
