DeVos’ Funding Scheme on Hold For Now. Stand by for an Executive Order

Two federal judges have independently ruled the Betsy DeVos overstepped her authority when she unilaterally ruled that the CARES funds would be allocated on a per capita basis as opposed to the formula clearly enacted by Congress that distributed funds based on poverty levels of students. My guess is that either the Supreme Court or, more likely, the POTUS will rescue her. An Executive Order allowing more taxpayers funds to go to private and parochial schools will play well with the POTUS’ base and show that he is tough on unions and wants to help parents escape from “failing public schools”. November’s election can’t come too soon!
