Appalling G+T Segregation Data SHOULD Gives Policy Makers Pause… And Gives Politicians Acid Indigestion

As the article below indicates, the percentage of gifted and talented students in NYC is predominantly Asian and only 7% Black. This has nothing to do with blacks lacking “gifted and talented” youngsters and everything to do with the way NYC measures it… which is a single pencil and paper test!
Fixing this issue is easy… abandon the tests as the only metric! When test scores and “merit” are conflated we leave out many children!
