If You Don’t Like the Way We Teach History You Have Two Choices: Zip Your Lip or Get Out
In a story that Fox News promoted without irony, two private school parents brought their “crusade” against CRT that was allegedly being taught at an Ohio private school to Fox and Friends. It seems that the Head of School expelled the children of these two (ahem) fighters for justice because their appearance on a right wing podcast ran afoul of a contract parents sign giving the head of school the ability to discharge students of oppositional parents. So now Fox News, the champion of deregulated school choice is standing up for parents who are knowingly defying the rules of a school they chose? The Root reporter took the whole episode a step further:
This week, Gross and Gonzalez took their Karens-need-love-too campaign to a friendly place, Fox News, to continue purporting themselves to be soldiers against indoctrination while parroting right-wing talking points that have clearly indoctrinated them into believing CRT is a poison that is being funneled down the throats of innocent students who should only be learning how perfect totally-not-racist America is.
“I feel like it is unfortunate that when you are speaking out and you are trying to say your truth, unfortunately, there are people who want to retaliate against you. In this case, they retaliated against our children, who are innocent,” Gross told Fox & Friends First.
Of course, a rational person would wonder why they would even want their children attending a school that they appear to believe is an institution of the Devil for *checks notes* teaching history honestly.
As anyone who supports deregulation should know its buyer beware when you enter the marketplace… but like the Karen’s they featured, Fox wants everything THEIR way.
